Philly's Own House Just Got Robbed By The Blue Jays
FINAL · Toronto Blue Jays 5 @ Philadelphia Phillies 4
Philadelphia thought it had a home-field advantage. Toronto didn't get the memo. The Blue Jays walked out of Citizens Bank Park with a 5-4 win, leaving Phillies fans staring at the scoreboard like it personally insulted them.
Josh Smith was the quiet assassin — 3-for-4, a home run, and just enough swagger to ruin somebody's Tuesday. Meanwhile Zack Wheeler grinded through 5.1 innings, struck out six, and still took the loss, which is the sports equivalent of doing all the group project work and getting a C-minus.
Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and did his part. Unfortunately his part wasn't enough of a part. José Soriano lasted 4.2 innings for Toronto and kept things close enough for the bullpen to finish the heist.
Philadelphia: beautiful city, great cheesesteaks, zero wins today.
