Bell Rings Milwaukee's Alarm Clock at Full Volume
FINAL · Minnesota Twins 8 @ Milwaukee Brewers 6
The Minnesota Twins walked out of Milwaukee with an 8-6 victory Tuesday, and Josh Bell made sure nobody would forget his name on the way out. The first baseman went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI, essentially carrying the offense on his back while the rest of the lineup played the role of helpful sidekicks.
On the mound, Shane Drohan had a night he'd probably like to return unopened. Five innings, six earned runs — the kind of outing that makes a pitching coach reach for decaf. Zebby Matthews wasn't exactly pristine for Minnesota either, surrendering three earned runs in his five frames, but when your offense is doing Josh Bell things, you can afford a little sloppiness.
Brice Turang chipped in a 2-for-4, two-RBI effort for Milwaukee, but it wasn't nearly enough to bail out a bullpen that inherited a sinking ship and went down with it. Twins take the W, Brewers take the bus ride home.
