One Homer Was Enough — Cardinals Survive Colorado's Best Shot

FINAL · Colorado Rockies 2 @ St. Louis Cardinals 3
St. Louis squeezed out a 3-2 win over Colorado Tuesday night, and honestly, it was closer than the Cardinals probably wanted it to be against a Rockies team that's been about as dangerous as a parking ticket. Iván Herrera did the heavy lifting at the plate with a solo shot, and Kyle Leahy kept the lineup quiet for five innings with eight strikeouts. That's the kind of outing that makes a manager sleep easy. Ryan Feltner had the misfortune of being just good enough to lose — five-plus innings, three earned, two punchouts. Meanwhile Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 for Colorado, proving that yes, the Rockies can get hits. They just can't seem to get enough of them at the right time. St. Louis wins ugly. Colorado loses prettier than expected. Business as usual.
